A film about 40 years of innovation history

Amberg, 1984 - With a drawing board and a computer, Dr Georg Baumann set the foundations for an innovative company. What began as a small engineering office with construction drawings for various customers developed from special machine construction to industrial automation and robotics.

The first control cabinets were still manufactured in the office and garage. From machines for punching children's books or assembling lipsticks - the range of orders was broad. However, the bold decision to concentrate on robot technology ultimately led to the breakthrough.

Baumann shifted its focus in 1991 and set a milestone in the industry in 1999 with the introduction of the first standard robot cell, the ro|box. This development had a significant impact on projects such as mobile phone assembly and plant construction for circulating pumps. The company grew with every new building that was constructed every five years.

The global breakthrough followed in 2010, when the company opened international service centres. Today, over 40 years and more than 7,200 installed systems later, the name Baumann Automation is synonymous worldwide with innovative automation solutions in the fields of handling, assembly and test solutions.

The Baumann Automation story continues. In the last five years, the number of employees has doubled and the production area now covers an impressive 30,000 square metres. Oskar Baumann is leading the company into the next generation and is now taking over the responsibilities of his father, Dr Georg Baumann.

With his sound training and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in industrial automation, he is ideally equipped to successfully continue Baumann Automation. The course has been set for a successful future - with Oskar Baumann at the helm, Baumann Automation is facing an exciting new era.

The film about the history of Baumann Automation tells of courage, innovation and family continuity - a success story that still has many exciting chapters ahead of it.

Here's to the next decades!
